Aljoša Jurinić (Alyosha Jurinic, b. 1989 in Zagreb) is a Croatian pianist.
He is best known for winning the 16th International Robert Schumann Competition in 2012. Most recently, he was the prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition in 2016 and the finalist of the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition 2015. Aljoša Jurinić is the winner of numerous competitions, three of them being international piano competitions in Italy: the 3rd Encore! Shura Cherkassky International Piano Competition in Milan (2012), the Luciano Luciani International Piano Competition in Consenza (2014) and the Massarosa International Piano Competition (2014).
Aljoša Jurinić has won all the major awards for young musicians in Croatia, most notably the Best Young Musician Award from the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra (2012), the Ivo Vuljević Jeunesse Musicales Award (2010), the Ferdo Livadić Award (2013), the Darko Lukić Award (2015) and the Vladimir Nazor Award given anually by the Croatian Ministry of Culture for highest achievements in various artistic fields since 1959. In 2016 Aljoša Jurinić became the youngest recipient in the history of the award.
Hailed by the Music&Vision magazine as “a Chopin-player beyond compare” following a recital in London, he has continued to perform solo and with orchestras in many countries, appearing at important festivals such as Piano Fortissimo (Zagreb), Split Summer Festival (Croatia), Dubrovnik Summer Festival (Croatia), Chopin and His Europe (Poland), From Easter to Ascension (Tbilisi, Georgia), Kiev Summer Music Evenings (Ukraine), Nohant (France), Serate Musicali (Milano), Festival Puccini (Torre del Lago, Italy) and others. In February 2015, he made his Carnegie Hall recital debut.
He played a wide variety of piano concertos with many orchestras, most notably Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra of Belgium, Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Plauen-Zwickau Philharmonic, Kosovo Philharmonic, The Symphony Orchestra of the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation and others.
His first CD titled ‚Chopin Alive‘ featuring a recording from a Chopin recital was published in 2017.
Aljoša Jurinić is currently studying under Prof. Grigory Gruzman as a Concert Diploma candidate at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany. Previously he studied under Prof. Eliso Virsaladze at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (2011–2014), Prof. Noel Flores at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria (2009–2011) and Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan at the Academy of Music of the University of Zagreb, Croatia (2007–2012).
Shanghai Baohong Culture had arrangedl Aljoša's first China tour in June-July,2018, 8 concerts have been held already now. And 2019 China tour will come soon in Nov again with 20 concerts.
